Pathways of Action
At the heart of the Planet Project is a simple belief:
Change doesn’t come from information alone — it comes from participation.
That belief has guided us for years — shaping the way we’ve curated stories, media, and aligned change agents in what we now call our Living Library. While we’ve always organized resources around five core verbs, this site redesign marks a shift: those verbs are now framed as Pathways of Action, and they play a central role in how you navigate the site. The Pathways serve as an interface layer — helping you access the deeper currents of cultural transformation already flowing through our databases.
Five Pathways of Action
This is how we organize everything we offer. These aren’t fixed life roles or long-term identities. They are moment-by-moment invitations.
Each pathway reflects a different movement — inward, outward, or together — and offers a way to respond to the here-and-now calling of your heart. Whether you feel the need to pause and awaken, seek deeper understanding, take a small action, or connect with others — the Great Transition is made of these choices, lived one moment at a time.
How These Pathways Work on the Site
While all five pathways reflect distinct forms of engagement, they also serve a practical function across the Planet Project website. Awaken, Learn, Act, and Organize act as filters into our Positive Culture database — helping you find media and resources aligned with your current orientation or curiosity. Connect, on the other hand, is your gateway to the Aligned Change Agents — people, projects, and organizations that may inspire you or invite deeper relationship. In this way, each pathway becomes not just an idea, but a step toward meaningful connection and contribution.
The five verbs draw inspiration from the Spiral Model of Outcomes, our core theory of change. They represent a natural arc of personal and cultural transformation — from awakening awareness to collective organizing — and are designed to meet you wherever you are.

The Five Pathways — and What They Invite
Awaken
Awaken to the depth, breadth, and urgency of the global crisis — and to the extraordinary opportunity it offers for creative transformation.
Learn
Deepen your understanding. Explore root causes, alternative models, and insights that reshape your worldview.
Connect
Build relationships with others walking this path. Share, listen, support, and strengthen each other.
Act
Move from insight to impact. Align your gifts with what the world needs — in creative, courageous ways.
Organize
Scale your agency by joining or forming regenerative communities and networks of collective power.
Everything in this Living Library is discoverable through these five pathways — so you can engage not just with content, but with your own inner readiness for action.
These Five Pathways of Action are grounded in the Spiral Model of Outcomes…
…a living theory of change that reflects how real transformation unfolds: from inner awakening to collective organizing. First introduced in our blog “The Spiral Model of Outcomes – A Path to a Flourishing Earth”, the model shows how disillusionment can become activation, and how individual agency can spiral upward into system-level change.
Each pathway reflects a natural stage in this upward spiral — inviting you to engage wherever you are, and keep evolving forward.
