Our Initiatives

Advancing the Great Transition through our Catalyst, Connector, and Amplifier roles

The Planet Project’s initiatives put our strategy into practice by strengthening the broader ecosystem of people and organizations working toward a life-honoring, partnership-based planetary culture.

CATALYST INITIATIVES

Helping people see and feel the deeper pattern of the Great Transition

Blogs & Essays

We illuminate the deeper patterns of the Great Transition — the shifts from separation to interconnection, from domination to partnership, and from exploitation to caring for all life. Our writing distills complex ideas into clear, accessible insights that help people recognize the emerging planetary culture. It’s one of our core creative contributions.

The Partnership Culture Initiative (Advancing Riane Eisler’s Legacy)

Riane Eisler’s work has been foundational to the Planet Project. Her research on shifting societies from domination to partnership deeply informs our vision and practice. In gratitude for her enduring influence — and because her insights are urgently needed today — we collaborate closely with the Center for Partnership Systems (CPS), a global leader in cultivating partnership-based culture. Together, we advance projects aligned with this shared mission, including our role as a key partner in the Peace Begins at Home Summit (October 29, 2025), helping illuminate a future grounded in connection, care, and shared flourishing.

Global Youth Leadership & Learning Initiative

We believe that youth involvement is critical for a positive future, and that it’s our responsibility at the Planet Project to harness the powerful voices of youth to help guide our efforts. We aim to cultivate a space for youth to flourish and grow as leaders so they can reimagine and co-create a healthy future for everyone. Our various programs include internships with Peak to Peak High School that inspired Ascent STEM, community action discussions with students at the University of Maine, the development of a Global Peace Council that is youth led and intergenerational, and our open invitation to volunteer in a variety of roles within our organization. It is one of our core commitments to nurture the next generation by supporting youth action and innovation now and for our future.

The Deep & Rapid Transformation Convergence brings together leaders working on breakthrough approaches to societal transformation. As part of this collective, the Planet Project contributes to shared learning, strategic alignment, and cross-pollination among initiatives. Supporting DRTC is one of the ways we help strengthen the broader ecosystem accelerating the Great Transition.

CONNECTOR INITIATIVES

Strengthening relationships across the ecosystem of change

The Connect Pathway comes to life through our Aligned Change Agents Directory — a curated map of people, groups, and organizations working toward a life-honoring, partnership-based future. This directory helps you find collaborators, mentors, and communities aligned with your own calling.

The Individual Change Leaders Initiative

Many of the most important contributions to the Great Transition are being led by individuals or small teams whose work is visionary but under-resourced. Through this initiative, the Planet Project provides amplification, community connection, and practical support to emerging and established change leaders. We help elevate their voices, strengthen their visibility, and create pathways for their work to reach the people and places where it can have the greatest impact.

Martin’s work bridges ecological literacy with youth empowerment, helping young people understand their relationship to Earth and their potential to shape a sustainable future. A core element of his contribution is the “ALL Careers” approach — the insight that every career, not just traditional environmental fields, must become sustainable if we are to create a thriving green economy. We support his efforts to bring this much-needed approach into schools, communities, and mentorship programs.

Scott’s peacebuilding work embodies the inner and outer dimensions of the Great Transition. Through Active Peace, he offers tools, teachings, and practices that help individuals and communities move from domination toward compassion, connection, and partnership. We help amplify his message and expand its reach.

The Institute for a New Political Cosmology (Louis Herman, Andy Hoffman, Cheryl Genet)

The Institute for a New Political Cosmology explores the deep evolutionary, philosophical, and moral foundations of a life-honoring future — work grounded in Louis Herman’s landmark book Future Primal. Since the earliest days of the Planet Project, Louis, Andy Hoffman, and Cheryl Genet have been trusted advisors, thought partners, and collaborators. This is a true partnership: we provide feedback, editing, and strategic support, and their insights have profoundly shaped our own understanding of the Great Transition.

Ascent STEM (Vyom Jain & Dipan Dangi)

Vyom and Dipan first joined us as Planet Project interns, where their exposure to the Great Transition inspired them to found their own nonprofit, Ascent STEM. Their organization empowers youth to explore science, leadership, and planetary citizenship through hands-on learning and community engagement. Today, we are inspired by their vision, initiative, and execution, and we proudly support their efforts as part of the emerging wave of youth-led planetary leadership.

AMPLIFIER INITIATIVES

Elevating positive culture and regenerative stories

Our monthly newsletter is one of our most important tools for amplifying the Great Transition. Each issue lifts up inspiring stories, visionary leaders, regenerative media, upcoming events, and meaningful opportunities to participate in the shift toward partnership culture. We spotlight new additions to our curated databases, share blogs that deepen understanding, elevate youth leadership opportunities, and bring forward the voices and ideas too often overlooked in mainstream media. Our goal is simple: to strengthen the signal of positive culture and help people feel connected, informed, and inspired as part of a living planetary movement.

Our Positive Culture database highlights cultural expressions that carry the deeper memetic shift from domination, separation, and exploitation toward unity, partnership and caring. Drawn from films, podcasts, essays, music, and more, each entry demonstrates how the emerging Planetary Culture already lives in art, storytelling, and everyday creativity. Organized through the Pathways of Action, this collection helps visitors find what their heart is calling for — something to awaken, to learn, to act on, or to join with others around. These stories nourish hope, model courage and compassion, and reveal a more life-honoring future already in motion.

The Positive Media Lab is a large-scale collaborative ecosystem designed to uplift and amplify stories that are good for people and the planet. We are early partners in shaping this emerging effort, contributing our Positive Media database and helping connect aligned creators.
