Big History Project
Big History Project (part of the OER Project) offers a free, multi‑disciplinary online curriculum that explores the 13.8‑billion‑year story of the Universe — from the Big Bang to the present — through science, history, and collective learning. Designed for lifelong learners of all ages, the course weaves together thresholds of complexity (e.g., the emergence of stars, life on Earth, human collective learning, and the modern revolution) to help people grasp how the Universe, Earth, and humanity are interconnected and co‑evolving. By encouraging wide‑angle thinking across disciplines, fostering curiosity about our origins and future, and supporting inquiry‑based learning that connects cosmology, biology, culture, and society, the Big History Project aligns with the Planet Project’s values of truth‑seeking through science and holistic education, interconnectedness, and equipping learners to reflect on our shared impact and potential.
