Regenerative Technology Project
Regenerative Technology Project is helping reframe one of the defining questions of the Great Transition: not simply what can technology do, but what is technology for? Rather than treating innovation as inherently beneficial, the project asks how technological systems can be consciously designed in service to life, systemic health, resilience, and the flourishing of the biosphere. Its Regenerative Technology framework applies living-systems principles to technological development and explores the wider ecology of relationships, incentives, institutions, and impacts within which technologies exist. This moves the conversation beyond making today’s technologies incrementally less harmful toward reimagining the purpose and design of the technosphere itself. In Three Horizons terms, the project occupies a critical Horizon 2 role: helping redirect the extraordinary capacities of technology away from reinforcing Horizon 1 patterns of extraction, concentration, and disconnection and toward the distributed, relational, life-aligned infrastructure of Horizon 3. Its work strongly reflects the Planet Project’s commitments to systems thinking, interconnectedness, ecological stewardship, truth-seeking, and placing technology in service to the flourishing of life.
