Project Weave
Project Weave is working on a critical but largely invisible layer of the Great Transition: the digital infrastructure through which communities build trust, organize, share knowledge, and coordinate collective action. Its core proposition is “protocols, not platforms”—open standards that allow people to move between tools while retaining their identities, relationships, knowledge, and networks, rather than becoming captive to centralized platforms that control their data and connections. Weave does not seek to build another platform or blockchain; instead, it connects and supports existing protocol builders so their technologies can interoperate as shared digital commons. In Three Horizons terms, Project Weave is a compelling Horizon 2 effort to build Horizon 3 coordination infrastructure—moving beyond siloed, extractive digital systems toward an open, pluralistic ecosystem that enables communities to self-organize without surrendering autonomy. Its vision of portable trust and interoperable communities could provide important connective tissue for decentralized movements like the Great Transition itself.
