Living Earth Community
Living Earth Community is an evolving knowledge commons and global project launched by the Yale Forum on Religion and Ecology that invites people to recognize Earth as a vibrant, interconnected community of life, where organic, inorganic, and elemental subjects each have ways of knowing, being, and participating in the whole. Drawing from contemporary science, Indigenous ecological wisdom, Earth‑based spiritual traditions, and legal innovations like Earth Law, the project explores how more‑than‑human intelligences and diverse worldviews can reshape our ethical obligations and collective practices toward planetary stewardship. By deepening relational awareness of our embeddedness within the living Earth and inspiring ethical practices that protect biodiversity, honor ecological rights, and foster awe‑grounded responsibility, Living Earth Community advances the Planet Project’s values of sacred regard for life, truth‑seeking, minimizing harm, and self‑organizing social change.
