La Via Campesina
La Via Campesina was born as a global articulation of peasant movements. It defined among its objectives the formation of solidarity relations between peoples and especially between peasants’ organizations and, acknowledging the diversity of peasantry worldwide, the construction of a model of agricultural development that guaranties food sovereignty as the right of the people to define their own agricultural policies, as well as the preservation of the environment and protection of biodiversity.
