earthday.org
Founded in 1970 as a result of the first Earth Day, this venerable organization has mobilized millions of people in the United States to advocate for environmental protection. This movement marked the beginning of the modern environmental movement, and the organization has since grown into a global platform, coordinating environmental initiatives and awareness campaigns worldwide.
EarthDay.org’s mission to diversify, educate, and activate the environmental movement worldwide aligns closely with the Planet Project’s vision of environmental stewardship and social justice. Both organizations emphasize the importance of education, community involvement, and sustainable practices to foster a thriving planet. EarthDay.org’s initiatives, such as climate education and conservation efforts, resonate with the Planet Project’s core values of seeking truth, minimizing harm, and promoting the well-being of all life. Their collaborative approach to environmental activism reflects the Planet Project’s principle of self-organizing social change based on openness and humility.
